Garden on the White House Lawn

The New York Times reports that the White House
will have a garden for the first time since Eleanor Rosevelt planted a
Victory Garden during World War II.  There has been a good deal of
activity on the local food scene on this subject.  Roger Dorion of Kitchen Gardeners International
has been a huge proponent of this plan, calling it Eat the View, even
before Obama was elected.  (Don't go there now, I think the site just
crashed!)

What an excellent model for the rest of the country to follow – eating local and on a budget.
